Join us on Saturday June 8th at the Monolith Interactive office for a day of networking, great conversation, and the opportunity to hear informative and engaging speakers. Lunch will be provided. We will be following up the discussion around conflict minerals, the impact that the Canadian mining and tech sectors have overseas, and what actions we can take. We also have the special treat of chatting with one of our members on the ground in Malawi.

Feature Speakers:

Jeff Geipel: Venture Leader, Mining Shared Value, @ 11 am

Hear about his approach to constructively engage with the Canadian mining industry to pressure and facilitate changes to what it means to be a responsible company in a developing country

Alyssa Lindsay: Program Director, Malawi Water and Sanitation Team, Time TBD

Our chapter co-founder and long term overseas staffer will update us on EWB’s continuing work on the ground in Malawi

Workshop:

  • We will follow up our previous discussions with an update from the KW Just Mineral Campaign
  • In addition, folks from the University of Waterloo Chapter will be joining us to share their thoughts on the direction of the organization and how this fits in with conflict-free minerals and corporate responsibility
